Full House Rewire in Quarry Bank

The Brief

A three-bedroom home in Quarry Bank had reached the point where the whole property needed rewiring. The existing wiring was dated and no longer suited to modern electrical demands, and the homeowners wanted the reassurance of a safe, up-to-date installation throughout. The brief was straightforward: strip out the old wiring, rewire the property properly from the meter through to the last socket, and finish with a modern consumer unit giving full protection.

What We Did

Our work included:

• Stripped out the old wiring: The tired existing cabling was safely removed throughout the property, ready for a complete replacement.
• Rewired from the meter to the last socket: New cable was run to every circuit, socket, switch and lighting point, giving the whole home a fresh, reliable installation.
• Lifted floors and chased walls: Floors were taken up and walls chased so the new cables could be run properly and neatly out of sight, rather than surface mounted.
• Fitted a new consumer unit: The installation was finished with a new consumer unit carrying individual RCBO protection on every circuit, so a fault on one circuit no longer affects the rest of the house, plus whole-installation surge protection.
• Installed new accessories: New sockets, switches and lighting points were fitted throughout, giving the home the power and lighting it needed for everyday use.
• Tested and certified: The whole installation was tested and certified in line with NICEIC requirements, with every circuit clearly labelled at the board.

The Result

A three-bedroom home with a completely new electrical installation, safe and ready for years of reliable use. Every circuit now has its own protection, the whole installation is guarded against surges, and the homeowners have plenty of properly placed sockets and lighting. With full certification in hand, they have complete confidence in the safety of their home.
